Dr. Thos. Stewarts second wife died about 1812 and the dower land held by her was sold for distribution among his children. There were 32 negroes of the estate of Dr. Stewart, no part of which was ever received by his daughter Nancy who married Souky Billy Stewart.

Anderson Stewart says that in 1828 Lud: [Ludson] Worsham the Comr. told him that he then had some money in hand belonging to the Stewarts & he wished the matter could be decided so that he could pay out the money in his lifetime
